Beef Rendang

600 gms BEEF cut 6x5 cm (1/4 x 2 inch.)


25 dried chillies, soaked
16 shallots minced chopped
2 cloves garlic minced chopped
2 stalk lemon grass, sliced
1 cm or 1/2 inch ginger minced chopped
2 coconuts ( 5 cups coconut milk)
2 turmeric leaf
2 lime leaf, sliced
4 oz. white grated coconut for kerisik

1) Marinade Beef with ground Ingredients and leave for 15 minutes.

2) In A Pan, mix coconut milk together with marinated Beef. Place over medium heat and bring
to a slow boil, stirring occasionally.

3) Lower heat and simmer Beef for 1 hour, stirring frequently until gravy is thick.

4) Put in turmeric leaf, sliced lime leaf and kerisik, stir continiously for 15 minutes until very
little gravy remain.
